How it works

- Read the live results — they update as you type.
- Check the formula, worked example, and assumptions on this page before you decide.
Formula
Monthly gross ≈ CTC/12 − employer PF. In-hand ≈ monthly gross − employee PF − professional tax − monthly income tax − other deductions.
Worked example
₹12 lakh CTC, 40% basic, new regime: employer PF is part of CTC but not take-home; tax uses the FY slab engine.
Reading the result
Treat the output as a planning figure. Compare it with your sanction letter, payslip, or GST invoice rather than treating it as a filing or a loan offer.

Frequently asked questions
CTC is the employer’s total cost (often including employer PF and gratuity). Gross is usually CTC minus employer-only benefits. Net / in-hand is what hits the bank after PF, tax, and other deductions.
Assumptions and limits
- New regime default. Old-regime HRA/80C are ignored here — use the income-tax calculator to compare.
- Professional tax is not assumed. Enter your state amount or 0. We do not invent a state PT table.
- Employer PF is treated as 12% of basic and subtracted from CTC before take-home.
- Gratuity accruals, ESOP, and variable pay true-up are not modelled.
