How to use this calculator

  1. Enter the inputs shown above (amount, rate, tenure, income, or other fields).
  2. Read the live results — they update as you type.
  3. Check the formula, worked example, and assumptions on this page before you decide.

Formula

Expense at retirement = monthly × 12 × (1 + inflation)^years. Corpus ≈ annual expense / withdrawal rate.

Worked example

₹50,000 a month, 20 years, 6% inflation, 4% withdrawal → expense about ₹19.3 lakh a year and corpus about ₹4.8 crore.

Reading the result

Treat the output as a planning figure. Compare it with your sanction letter, payslip, or GST invoice rather than treating it as a filing or a loan offer.

Frequently asked questions

A 4% withdrawal rate is the same idea as 25 × annual expenses. It is a heuristic, not a promise that the corpus lasts.

Assumptions and limits

  • Withdrawal rate is a planning assumption (often 3–4%), not a guaranteed safe rate.
  • Does not include NPS annuity rules, EPF, or medical inflation separately.

Results are educational estimates, not tax, legal, investment, or medical advice, and not a loan offer. Verify filings and payments with the official authority or a qualified professional.
