Finance question
How much monthly income can I get from a ₹1 crore FD?
Last updated 2026-09-17
Quick answer
Monthly interest ≈ ₹1 crore × rate ÷ 12 if the bank pays simple monthly interest on the full principal. At 7% that is about ₹58,300 a month before tax. Your bank’s carded rate, senior-citizen extra, and TDS will change it. We do not publish one official FD rate because none exists.

Open Fixed depositPayout vs cumulative
A monthly-interest FD sends cash to your account and usually does not compound that interest. A cumulative FD (the FD calculator’s default quarterly compounding) grows the corpus and pays on maturity. Do not mix the two.
Formula
Monthly payout (simple) = principal × annual rate / 12. Cumulative FDs compound (often quarterly) instead of paying out.

Things to consider
- Interest is taxable as per your slab unless the instrument says otherwise.
- SWP from a debt fund is a different product with NAV risk.
- Simple monthly payout on ₹1 crore. Not a specific bank’s deposit.
